Sunshine Coast Parks and Places

The Willingdon Beach Trail is a 1.2 km trail. The Willingdon Beach Trail has some exposed beach walking opportunities. Willingdon Beach Park has parking, concession stand, museum, waterpark and grassy area.

The park is situated around a natural rock pier protruding out from the shoreline. There is a pathway leading out to the point for a grand view of the coastline

The walking and biking trail is enjoyed by all ages and abilities. The park and trail has been designed for easy walking and is fully wheelchair accessible spread out over 2,763 hectares. There are Totem Poles onsite from carvers Jackie Timothy and Terry Chapman.

Blackwater Creek Trail in Powell River, BC Canada on the Sunshine Coast is a comfortable 4 km hike and mountain bike ride. The trail route is used by both hikers and mountain bikers, so keep your head up.

The summer seasons attract the mountain bike, off road (ATV and motorbikes) and hiking enthusiasts to the Dakota Ridge area. Winter is its main use for xc ski and snowshoeing.

The Homesite Creek Trail cuts through forests for 2 km ( 1.2 mi.) and leads to the Homesite Waterfall, some sinkholes and a group of limestone caves. The caves are self exploratory, so beware, as the floor of the caves can be slippery.

This Sunshine Coast Park, Tuwanek Point Beach Trail is a short trail covering over 2 km ( 1.2 mi.). The trial route leads to Irvine Creek and then to views of the ocean coastline.

The route is an advanced mountain bike adventure that covers 7.5 km (4.5 mi.) climbing steep logging roads, cutting through forests, getting air time while gaining some speed downhill.

Simson Provincial Park is 461 hectare marine park in the Thormanby Islands. Accessed by water only, the preferred mode of transportation to the islands is a small boat, kayak or dingy

The identifying feature of Davis Bay is the long pebbled beach coastline with a well developed paved walking path lined with viewing benches while highlighted with a long wooden fishing pier jutting out from the shoreline.

The island is not open to the public, but many boaters and kayakers stroll by the island to observe a working lighthouse.

Halfmoon Bay

The mountain biking route includes highway riding and logging roads. The climbs, although tough, do reward the biker with great views of Jervis Inlet and some speed descents.
