McMillan Creek Regional Park is a network of three short trails leading to a grassy knoll lookout over looking the community of Prince George, BC, Canada and the mighty Nechako River.

Hoferkamp Road

Ferland Park is a central playground and picnic area that is easily accessible while in the community. A walking path dissects the park, connecting streets, directing people to the various play areas in the park like the Kinsmen Spray Park (water park).

The hiking route takes advantage of the local waterways that flow through the community by following Buck Creek most of the way and the mighty Bulkley River for some of the way.

Copeland Street

A 2.5 kilometre one-way path (5 kilometres return trip) leading to a remote waterfall. The narrow path explores through a dense forest, following and crossing creeks, climbing up and down, leading all explorers to the top of Jade Falls.

A full day or a multi day wilderness hike exploring forests, lakes, creeks and meadows in the backcountry wilderness regions near the community.

Kluskus Forest Service Road

The short 2 km or so hiking trail travels along an old overgrown forestry road leading out onto a lookout point with fantastic views of the Telkwa Mountain Range and the Bulkley Valley.

It is an easy-going short hiking trail (150 metres maybe) through a forest along the banks of the Hixon River which connects to a canyon and Hixon Falls. The canyon is home to chutes, river rapids, protective pools and swimming holes. It all depends on the season too, as river levels will fluctuate

Paarens Beach Provincial Park enjoys a sandy beach frontage with views of Fort St. James, Mount Pope and the Omineca Mountain Range. It is popular for camping, picnics, fishing, canoeing, boating, camping, swimming.

McClymont Park in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada featuring 3 Totem Poles popular for walkers, roller bladers, mountain bikers and joggers.

Highway 16

Circling the lake is a well maintained 6.7 kilometre (3.8 mi.) trail used by hikers and mountain bikers. The route follows, a mainly, hard packed earthy trail crossing over many bridges and boardwalk which protect the most ecological sensitive areas in the region.

The moderate trail is rough in parts and does have some steep sections throughout the hiking route... but in general it is an easy hike. The should take an average person 3 hours to complete the 5 kilometre trek.

The area is a popular destination for hikers, but also for wildlife. Visiting Oliver Lake and hiking the Dwarf Forest Trail provides a good opportunity to view Bald Eagles and Ravens.

Echo Lake Trail in Fort St. James, British Columbia, Canada is a 1.5 kilometre wilderness trail leading to the shores of Echo Lake.

Nellian Lake Trail (Old North Road Trail) is an easy, level hiking route following red square tree markers while exploring the meadow, the rivers and the forest backcountry regions popular for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding.

Irrigation Lake Park is a full serviced recreation destination complete with picnic tables (some in the shade, some not), fire pits, sitting benches, change rooms and outhouses. The lake enjoys a small sandy beach and a large grassy area. Many arrive at the lake to swim and picnic.
