Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton is a legacy venue built for the 1978 Commonwealth Games. It has been a well loved venue ever since. It is home to the Edmonton Elks CFL football team.

2024 is sure to be a fun season for Elks fans. To celebrate their 75th anniversary the Elks have come up with all kinds of activities to mark the occaission...let's hope the Grey Cup is one of them ;)

I may not have been to a CFL game before, but I have been to Commonwealth Stadium over the years. I have attended the FIS Style Experience Big Air Snowboarding Compeition and concerts, like the Rolling Stones.

Edmonton loves their 50-50 draws! $11,000+. Could be a year of university tuition. Or maybe a new road bike. One with electronic shifters. Lady luck wasn't on my side this time :(

It was a nail biter of a game between the Edmonton Elks and the Sasktachewan Roughriders. In the end, the Roughriders took this one beating out the Elks 28-27.

The Elks Cheer Team entertain fans during the Edmonton Elks CFL games. The Team is made up of 40 highly skilled and community-minded athletes. They can often be found supporting events throughout the region.

The Edmonton Elks logo looks great in the sunshine. The team was renamed in 2020 with Elks. The team explained that the name was chosen because elks speed, strength and resilience relfects that of the team and of Northern Alberta.

This is what Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton looked like the last time I was here. For the last two years Commonwealth has been convereted into an international FIS Big Air snowboarding world cup called The Style Experience.
