After visiting Marysville Falls in the fall, we couldn’t wait to see the trail in winter and experience a new perspective on Kimberley’s landscape. The hike is an easy 2.5-kilometer loop, following a forested ravine that guides you along Marks Creek toward the waterfall. Along the way, a charming log pedestrian bridge and a boardwalk offer excellent views of the creek, where water tumbles over small ledges before spilling into the main falls. Winter adds its own twist, as some sections of the trail can be icy or slippery, so sturdy footwear and careful footing are recommended.

On our visit, it was a bluebird day with clear skies and bright winter sun, highlighting the flowing creek and glistening water over the ledges. The sunlight streaming through the bare winter trees created a cheerful, crisp atmosphere that felt very different from our autumn walk. After the hike, we stopped at Timber Hitch Coffee for a warming soup and coffee, enjoying the cozy small-town vibe. We wrapped up the day with a visit to the Marysville Pub, a casual, classic spot that perfectly reflects the charm of Kimberley.

We finished the day at the Marysville Pub. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a small-town pub, unpretentious and casual, full of local character, and a true Kimberley classic.
