Family-owned and operated, Cedar Sweets specializes in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Cuisine. They take great pride in creating high quality and visually stunning pastries and dishes using only the freshest ingredients. Committed to providing excellent customer service, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Perhaps, best known in Edmonton for some of the best baklava in the city we decided to stop in for lunch and to pick up a tray of goodies for a potluck. After all, we do love a good foodsploring (food + exploring = foodslopring) adventure.

Cedar Sweet Restaurant creates both traditional and modern dishes. They serve lunch and dinners with a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Also, Cedar Sweets is a Halal restaurant. I chose the Falafel wrap. They say that your dinning experience will 'transport your taste buds to the Mediterranean'. It is true. It felt like we jet setters on a mini vacation to have lunch in Lebanon. It was fantastic.

Naturally, we had to try the Arabic Coffee to get the full experience. Arabic Coffee differs from Turkish Coffee as it includes cardamom and other spices. It is also boiled, not filtered. It has a slightly bitter taste with a complex flavour profile.

I ordered the freshly made mint lemonade from Cedar Sweets Restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta. It was refreshing and not sweet like the type you would buy in a bottle or a can.
