The historic Wade House Airbnb Vacation Rental in Conception Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada , was built in 1930 by a man named Michael Wade. Once the site of an old rural NL convenience store, the property is now a one bedroom luxury queen vacation suite.

I enjoyed relaxing in the stylishly decorated rental while sipping tea and snacking on hand crafted gourmet chocolate sea urchins! The owner, Paulette, was a talented artist, chef and chocolatier while her husband Darryl prided himself as a vintage up cycler - making use of any treasures he found around the harbour. I was amazed at some of their artwork.

Furthermore, there is a kitchenette which was fitted out with a table and 2 chairs, microwave, mini fridge, dishes, utensils and a coffee maker. Relax by the fireplace in the sitting area and enjoy a warm beverage with a tea bun after a day of exploring.

While visiting the Wade House I explored a nearby whaling shipwreck site where 3 boats from world wars past lay to rest. Experienced scuba divers may explore at own risk.

Additionally, “A Little Cup of Sea” Beach Hut, kayak and paddle board rentals were available just down the road in Colliers NL. I had a great time there as well enjoying a picnic in the shed. There were no shortage of things to do in this area and the Wade House made a beautiful home base for exploring and to enjoy some much needed self care.
