Kalamalka Fly Fishers, a local fishing club in Vernon, British Columbia, is gearing up to host their annual Free Fishing weekend for children aged 4-14. This highly anticipated event is a great opportunity for young anglers to learn about the sport of fishing and enjoy a day of outdoor fun.
The event, which will take place at Polson Park Pond (by the Ogopogo Statue), promises to provide a memorable experience for all participants. Thanks to the support of the Freshwater Fisheries of BC 1000 Rainbow trout will be stocked in the pond, ensuring that there will be plenty of fish for the young anglers to catch. In addition to the abundance of fish, the club will also be providing bait and fish cleaning services, making it easy for children to get involved and enjoy the experience without any hassle (children do not have to watch or be near fish cleaning).
The Kalamalka Fly Fishers are dedicated to promoting the sport of fly fishing and conservation efforts in the community.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 9 am - 4 pm and Sunday, May 5th, from 9 am - 3 pm!
