Welcome to the inaugural Holiday In The Park
“Christmas Light Festival” at Heritage Park!

The famous saying “If they build it they will come” is hopefully what will transpire this coming November and December, as our dream has finally turned into a reality!

Our family goal was to create a happy and festive location, so that everyone will have an opportunity to enjoy the holiday season. A place where smiles and laughter fill the air, and the smell of firepits, hot chocolate, hot coffee and gingerbread cookies transform this beautiful historical property, into a magical and mystical place that is filled with lights, decorations, inflatables, ice sculptures, snow soccer, movies in the park, live entertainers, treats…and of course Santa!

The focus was on supporting local…so we did just that! We have traveled to well over 40 cities and towns in our amazing Province, collecting unique, historical and treasured items from hundreds of people that we have never met before. Many of the older items came with heart warming stories by their owners…often a tear would be shed as they watched their 60 year old sleigh being taken to a new home, or their hand made Santa and Reindeer lawn decorations were taken from the garage…a place they have been stored for over 50 years. We can’t forget about the 75 year old barn that will now be showcased behind our Santa. Many have requested photos to be sent to them once it is all set up for the Holiday In The Park…which we will more than happily do for them.

We hope that our family brings you and your family a new tradition for years to come!

Don't miss out on the newest Christmas event in Calgary!

Bison Transport Holiday In The Park "Christmas Light Festival" at Heritage Park! Presented by Fountain Tire, Data Communications Management and Big Star Lights. Special shout out to Suds and Sons.

Opening night is Sunday, November 28th and ending Friday, December 31 (Early New Years Eve countdown for kids)! Each night offers a 5pm - 7:30pm and 7:30pm - 10pm time slots.

15 nights in total...but not consecutive nights!

Christmas Lights, Decorations, Antiques, Heritage Homes Decorated, Fire pits, Candy Cane Crescent, Canada Land, Rainbow Lane, Live Entertainment, Roaming Entertainers, Snow Soccer, Incredible Selfie Locations (if you want to get engaged...we have an absolutely incredible location for your proposal), Santa Village (photos)...and the historical Wainwright Hotel and Alberta Bakery will be open for your hot foods, hot baked goods, hot coffee and hot chocolate needs!

Supporting the Calgary Food Bank and The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary.

This event is supporting local from start to finish...over 40 Alberta towns or cities were visited over the past 18 months, in order to purchase unique and antique decorations. This event has hired amazing local entertainers, rental companies, supply companies...all of which have been hit hard by covid-19.

Supporting this event not only allows us to support 2 amazing charitable organizations, but allows us the opportunity to support small local companies!

TIFF? Pfft! ALFF is the film festival you want to be at.

The Available Light Film Festival (ALFF) has been a fixture in the territory’s cultural scene for over a decade. Every year, the festival screens the best of contemporary Canadian and international film to eager audiences in Whitehorse. From Oscar-worthy performances to future cult classics, you’re guaranteed to strike cinematic gold on the silver screens across town.

See award-winning films as they were meant to be seen, participate in educational workshops with industry professionals, and connect with fellow film-buffs at the ALFF Media Industry Forum. The festival is no stranger to celebrity guests either. Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy) and Neil Diamond have made the trek north to the largest film festival above the 60th parallel. But celebrities or no celebrities, the Yukon night sky never fails to make ALFF the most naturally star-studded film festival in the world.

Since 2001 we have been having our annual Pumpkinfest; the most pumpkin filled day around! With your help, we have raised over $250,000 for local programs such as the REAL Program and Mount Pearl Sport Alliance. This year, due to Covid restrictions, our annual Pumpkinfest will look a little different. Instead of a one jammed pack day, our Pumpkinfest will be spread throughout the entire month of October. A portion of the proceeds go towards helping others in our community through community charities.

Our twentieth annual Pumpkinfest will be on weekends throughout October 2nd - 24th from 10:00 - 5:00, as long as the weather cooperates. Once admission is purchased, you’ll be able to enjoy our corn maze, wagon rides, giant slide, other mazes, our fall props and designs, petting barn and more! We will also have some special guests from time to time such as Princesses from Spoonful of Sugar, music lessons from School of Rock, and balloon animals from Squeak-eez Balloon Animals. Since 2001 we have donated over $250,000 and have helped over 1000 families with your help!

We hope to see you there! We know you'll have a GOURD time!

Tickets for Pumpkinfest cost $8/person or you can also get a family pass for $35 and cover the admission fee for five people.

Tickets can be purchased online through our online store and at the booth on the day of.

This year, proceeds will be going to the R.E.A.L. Program and the Mount Pearl Sports Alliance. $1 from each admission & $5 from each family pass will be donated to these two programs.

    Attractions

Corn maze, wagon rides, fall props, giant slide, barrel train, bee observatory, petting barn, other mazes and games, fall gmes, fall crafts and pop up events.

“It’s back!!!..the great HARVEST PUMPKIN FEST!!!! Weekends in October!!!

Stroll through the farmyard and find your perfect PUMPKINS at Butterfield Acres this year! Add in some great animal visits, fabulous  fall photo-ops, pony rides, a ride thru Scarecrow Alley in the back woodlands (spectacular at this time of year) and you’ve got the MUST-DO fall family fun day that is great for the entire family!  With covid still lurking, we ask that everyone wash hands BOTH  before AND after every activity or pen visit; AND that everyone is smart when it comes to social distancing.

Here’s what will be happening (including our covid requirements):

Visits with all of your favorite farm animals (of course)! Hand washing stations available throughout the farm and outside animal pens and activities!  Everyone MUST  be washing hands both  BEFORE and AFTER each pen/activity (yup… this is the second time we are mentioning this!… it is important!)
Memorable Autumn photo opportunities: lots of adorable photo-ops for your family photos!
Pony rides! Child weight limit: must be UNDER 60# /27kg.  Because we cannot social distance, children over 2 and their walk-along parent must be wearing a mask.
Tractor pulled wagon rides through Scarecrow Alley in our beautiful back woodlands…sensational fall colours; leaves will be falling throughout the month!  Families will be social distanced on the wagons (masks preferred, but not required).
Warm up with our crackling fire pit while enjoying some hot chocolate (child temperature), apple cider, pumpkin sippers (juice),or coffee!
    And… this year… S’MORE KITS!
    Remember to social distance!
Costumes encouraged!! Dress up in your favorite family-friendly Halloween costumes!  Two contests every week  for 2022 Season Pass  1) for a family of up to 2 adults and 2 children,  2) for an individual.   Just post your photos to Instagram and tag us!
And best of all……. pumpkins on display can be purchased to take home! Stroll throughout the farmyard and pick out your favorite pumpkins! Your wagon will come in handy if you are getting multiple pumpkins to decorate your house and yard.  At the end of your visit  (or if you want to buy your pumpkins early and take them to your car), stop at  the “EXIT side” of the Admissions building to pay.  Watch for signs.

When visiting the farm please make sure the Adult/Child ratio is at least 1:3 and that all attendees are aware of our Farm Safety Rules. Plan to have a safe time at the farm.  Let’s make some FUN covid memories!!!

Like last year, you will be able to tune in and enjoy the fair from the comfort of your home. There, you will be able to experience fair favourites, including our Baby Show, Pet Show, Livestock Show, Talent Show, as well as, our exhibit building competitions.
This year, we will also be bringing back a ‘Paint with Christine’ session for those who would like to paint from home, a video provided by the Grenville Milk Producers, which will take you on a tour of the local Dairy Farms, Storytime with the Edwardsburg/Cardinal Library, as well as countless educational videos based on all thing’s agriculture.

For the first time ever, we are also excited to announce that this year’s Spencerville Fair will be hosting a Virtual Brewery Tour! We have partnered with a number of carefully selected, local breweries for this one-night event. During this virtual tour, we will be taking you behind closed doors of some of the up-and-coming breweries in the area. You will hear from the brewmaster themselves as they take you on a tour of their brew site, share their brewery’s history, and guide you through each sip of their original products. You will be able to experience the excitement of different beers and ciders, surrounded by members of your community, all without leaving your home. Tickets for this event will go on sale soon. You will not want to miss this!

On the Saturday of the fair weekend, we will be opening our grounds at 12 o’clock noon for a day of FREE events! That’s right, as a thank you to our faithful and loving community, admission to this year’s in-person fair will be completely free of charge. On this day, we are excited to bring to you a Stationary Parade, Vendor Show, Touch a Truck, Food Vendors, The Barn of Learning, Farmers Olympics, and Live Music featuring performances by Amanda Keeley, Urban Rodeo, The Posse, and Brea Lawrenson. All this and more are heading your way.

Bringing our Spencerville Fair back each year to our community is incredibly important to us. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience while we navigate through these difficult times. With your help and participation, we are confident that this year’s 166th Spencerville Fair will be nothing short of a success.

More announcements to follow as we work through all of the details. For updates regarding the fair, schedule, map, and COVID-19 restrictions, please visit our website at www.spencervillefair.ca
