Eurasian bakehouse crafting fresh and specialty pastries inspired by Europe & Japan
A visual journey of the pastry-craft at Hazukido - On a sunny fall day I embarked on a vivid and flavour-packed taste adventure in Montreal, at Hazukido in the heart of St. Catherine Street, Montreal, Quebec. Right away I was greeted by the display of over twenty different types of pastries, each lovingly prepared by the Eurasian bakehouse, Hazukido, that merges croissant, cookie and Japanese-European influences into one unforgettable taste story. Moreover, the pastry artisans at Hazukido insist on the Shokunin spirit of Japan, which means every single croissant is crafted using only the finest ingredients and carrying the highest quality. The classic French traditions are honoured, but with an adventurous twist: buttery croissant dough folded with precision, filled, topped, and paired with nearly unlimited drink-options. In the end I chose the Biscoff Crookie – a perfect blend of warm buttery croissant filled with smooth sugary Biscoff spread and topped with a warm chocolate-chip cookie plus a Lotus Biscoff cookie. It was every bit as good as it sounds. By way of new tourism updates, Hazukido continues to delight visitors to Montreal and beyond. Notably, Canada now hosts multiple Hazukido locations including one at 1629 St. Catherine St. West, Montréal, Quebec., and in Toronto, Ontario.

Upon entry, this glass enclosed display tempts customers with a large variety of croissants, cookies, pastries and "crookies". From salty and savoury to sweet and sugary, the choice were broad and varied, yet everything was fresh.

No less impressive than the expansive drink menu, the pastry menu at Hazukido also offered a vast range of treats for all palates! From the classic Honeycomb to the more adventurous Smoked Chicken and Cheese, there was a croissant for everyone. I will have to go back another day to try "Croffles" - yes, that's a cross between a waffle and a croissant!

Although the shop was small, saving lots of room for the preparation space behind the counters, an area was saved for customers to enjoy their taste adventures at Hazukido on St. Catherine Street in Montreal.

When I exited the bakehouse, I snuck a peek at the Biscoff Crookie that I obtained from Hazukido on St. Catherine Street in Montreal. It was still warm!

Thank you Hazukido Eurasian Bakehouse for crafting up such a delicious treat! This is the "Biscoff Crookie" - a buttery croissant filled with Biscoff spread topped with a chocolate chip cookie, which is then topped with a traditional Lotus Biscoff cookie. It was warm, sugary and sweet. The croissant itself was soft and flaky with a fresh crusty exterior, while the spread and cookies were soft and warm. Absolutely delicious!
