Lille is a long abandoned coal town found in southern Alberta. It is part of Alberta's Crowsnest Heritage Tour and is found deep in the mountains. Not a likely spot to find an old town, but they pop up in some unexpected places.
This trail is ATV friendly and takes a few hours to complete. There is a small townsite with interpretive signs, old Bernard Coke Ovens, a tiny cemetery, and gorgeous trail scenery.
Take the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre road until you reach the cleared out pipeline construction. That's where you'll turn left and go until you cannot drive any further. You'll find a small parking area if you make it right to the end. There will be a trail sign so you know you're in the right place.
Explore the Crowsnest Pass!

The 2nd annual Big Jack Classic Ice Fishing Derby took place over the Family Day weekend here in Alberta, Canada.
With over $10000 in cash and prizes to be won, it's a fun, exciting event that is family friendly.
Buffalo Lake is located near the town of Stettler in central Alberta, just over 2 hours north of Calgary. Accommodations available in nearby Stettler.
Family Day weekend is a free fishing weekend, meaning you do not need a fishing license! Still must follow area regulations, but it's a great time to try something new.
There are tons of fishing derbies around, check your local area, there might be one near you! Anyone can enter, and anyone can win.

Jurassic Quest is back in Canada! With multiple dates for the 2024 spring season ahead, hopefully there is one near you!
We visited this cool dinosaur event in Calgary, Alberta. We went in the afternoon but the line up was literally outside of the building and wrapping around the BMO Centre. Which is not a small building. With a small toddler I knew that wasn't going to work out well at all. So we decided to leave and come back in the evening. What a difference! No line ups, open halls and attractions, quick in and out photo Ops. It was perfect.
Definitely a fun way to spend some time with the kids!
2024 Dates and Locations in Canada for Jurassic Quest
Apr 12-14 Winnipeg MB
Apr 19-21 Calgary AB
Apr 26-28 Edmonton AB
May 2-5 Vancouver B.C
May 10-12 Abbotsford B.C
Ticket prices vary, but start around $25/person
