Tania Stewart I'm smiling at your reply. When dealing with teens, you just have to go with what works. Glad this works!

The power of nature and reclamation. A friend and her husband have a summer home on Savary Island. Savary Island is about 144 kilometers northwestThe power of nature and reclamation. A friend and her husband have a summer home on Savary Island. Savary Island is about 144 kilometers northwest of Vancouver BC. It is a very small island only 7.5 k long and 1.5 k wide, but it is known for its beautiful sandy white beaches. During the time of COVID, my friend and her husband were unable to return to their summer home for various reasons (travel restrictions, island quarantine restrictions, their own health). When they returned in the summer of 2021, they were in shock! They needed an axe to cut down the ivy that had reclaimed the porch, covered the front door and had climbed to the rooftop. The photos were quite something. However, the big surprise, once inside, was an onion. It had been forgotten in one of those vegetable/fruit hanging baskets. Now this was amazing. The onion had grown roots down from the basket and into the drain of the kitchen sink where it sought water. The leaves reached to the ceiling. It had grown and survived on just what it could find in the air, and I guess whatever had been left in the drain. Makes you wonder how long it would take for our cities to look like Tania's photos, were we all to leave one day. More ...
