Storm Mountain Lookout is a day use area found along the Bow Valley Parkway in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. This mountain has a lot of character and lives up to its name. I always find some interesting weather when passing over Storm Mountain. But here you can just enjoy the views from a distance without the crazy weather. Additionally you will also see the Vermillion Pass, Mount Ball, Mount Whymper, Mount Bell and Boom Mountain in the surrounding scenery of Storm Mountain.
Another stunning mountain face to enjoy while here would be Castle Mountain and the Castle Cliffs, located on the north side of the highway.

Storm Mountain Day Use Area in Albertas Banff National Park, is fantastic for picnicking, train spotting, wildlife viewing, as well as just relaxing in the mountains.

Please use the garage cans provided or pack it out with you. And remember, don't ever feed the wildlife. I spent a good 10 minutes here picking up other people's food garbage when I arrived, hoping to beat the bears to it. Please help keep our parks clean and our animals safe.

This day use area in Banff is currently under a bit of work, but it does not effect the picnic areas at all. Enjoy views of the stunning Castle Mountain while here too!

Do not leave your garbage, anywhere, but especially in the National Parks in bear country. When I pulled into the parking lot, someone had obviously been quite careless and there was a lot of recent garbage starting to blow around and attract the birds already. I quickly picked it all up, because we all work together to keep Canada as beautiful as it is. Please pack out what you bring in. If the garbage cans are full, take your trash with you. If you don't know how to open a bear bin trashcan, take your trash with you until you learn how.

Alberta has what they refer to as Snow Forests. It takes a hardy breed of plants and animals to survive the almost year round cold temperatures.
