No need to fly off to Holland this spring if you wish to see tulips. The Harrison Tulip Festival has around 10 million tulips planted on 35 acres, all with stunning mountain backdrops. They also have hyacinths and daffodils. Bulbs have been planted so that the viewing season will stretch out to four or five weeks.
It is easy drive from anywhere in the lower mainland. A wonderful day trip! Plenty of free parking when you get there. Bring your cameras. There are plenty of photo opportunities as well as items like a miniature windmill, tractor, swing set, benches, etc., where you can stage your photo.
There are two food trucks on site, picnic tables with shade umbrellas, a Farm Shop selling fresh cut and potted tulips along with postcards, gift items, and cold drinks.
There is also a separate garden area, more tulips and daffodils and other flowers showcased in a two acre garden along with mature fruit trees and flowering shrubs.
Hoping to make it here someday!
