My favorite winter road trip is from Calgary, Alberta to Radium British Columbia.
It is an incredibly scenic three-hour drive along Highway 93 from Calgary into Kootenay National Park. For this spectacular winter road trip, have winter tires on your vehicle, a tank of gas, some snacks, and a thermos full of coffee.
Remember your towel and bathing suit if you plan to visit Radium Hot Springs on a cold winter day to enjoy the hot, steamy water!
This is a road trip with many opportunities for sightseeing as you travel along Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park. You can visit the Paint Pots, Numa Falls, Marble Canyon, and the Kootenay Red Chairs.
There are also plenty of opportunities for hiking in the area.
It is an enjoyable 1-day road trip that should be on everyone's Bucket List!

The Sinclair Canyon road into Radium B.C. is usually VERY BUSY with traffic, but this trip on a weekday with less traffic afforded me the opportunity to get this photo l have always wanted!

Radium is famous for not only their Hot Spring Pool but also the resident Rocky Mountain Sheep that are everywhere. This guy was just out for a stroll enjoying a beautiful winter day in Radium B.C.
This icy cold mountain stream is by Sinclair Canyon Rock Cut on the way into Radium B.C.
There is a small parking lot across the street if you want to stop for a look and photos of the rock cut.

The poolside can get quite frosty and slippery at Radium Hot Springs so it is recommended to only use the main entrance to get in and out of the hot spring pool in the winter for your safety.
