The original 1938 Blue Water Bridge is 6,178 feet (1,883 m) in length and it's 1997 twin is 6,109 feet (1,862 m).
Both serve 14,000 to 15,000 vehicles per day.
The Blue Water Bridge has toll booths going each way and the money goes to maintenance and operational costs for the twin bridges.

In the 1920's with the popularity of the automobile booming, plans began for the Blue Water Bridge and were designed by a man known as 'America's Greatest Bridge Builder' named Ralph Modjeski.
On October 10th, 1938 the first span of the Blue Water Bridge was opened.
On July 22nd, 1997 the second span of the Blue Water Bridge opened.
Built just 125 feet south of the original bridge to meet increased traffic and commercial demand.

During construction of the 1997 Blue Water Bridge twin, thousands of Indigenous artifacts were found on the Canadian side. This find required archeological mitigation. This Bridge spans between Point Edward Ontario Canada and Port Huron Michigan USA.
