Located on the eastern edge of Thunder Bay, Ontario above the Trans Canada Highway is the Terry Fox Memorial and Outlook.
Here you will find breath taking views of Lake Superior and a larger than life bronze statue of Terry Fox heading west.
Terry started his Marathon of Hope on April 12th, 1980 in St. John's Newfoundland by dipping his prosthetic leg into the Atlantic Ocean and had hopes and dreams of reaching the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the country on his journey to raise Cancer awareness.
I was privileged to see and shake hands with this amazing Canadian as he made his way through Burlington, Ontario and l will never forget his smile and the sheer determination he had.
Emotional and inspiring, the Terry Fox Memorial is one road side stop not to be missed!
Sadly, after 143 days and 5,373 kms Terry's heroic journey ended when his cancer returned and he was forced to stop between Thunder Bay and Nipigon.
