Calgary has a long history of sports that dates back longer than it has been a city. In fact, the world-famous Calgary Stampede got its start in 1886. It when the Calgary & District Agricultural Society held its first fair. It wasn't until 8 years later that Calgary became a city in 1894. The Other Side Sports Bar in Hotel Blackfoot carries on this sporting tradition by being a gathering place to cheer on your favourite sports team.
