Diwali is almost here and to celebrate, Toronto will have a Diwali Mela Festival of Lights event that’s completely free to attend.

The one-day celebration will be held at the Gerrard India Bazaar on Saturday, October 22nd, a few days before Diwali begins.

The festival will have all kinds of fun and exciting activities to commemorate this major holiday, including sparklers and a live DJ.

You’ll get to enjoy cultural, musical, and dance performances while indulging in delicious treats like laddoos and jalebis with chai.

Plus, do a little shopping at the event’s sidewalk sale and pick up some local goodies to take home.

The Gerrard India Bazaar BIA hosts many free events throughout the year for all to attend.

Coming up soon is the Christmas in the Bazaar celebration, which is held on the first Sunday of December.

There are over 135 small businesses located at the Bazaar, making it the biggest South Asian marketplace in North America.

Whether you celebrate Diwali or simply want to participate in the joy of this holiday with your fellow Torontonians, Diwali Mela is where you need to be!
