Frog Falls is a fantastic hidden gem of a waterfall. I considered this to be relatively easy to find with basic outdoor adventure skills and minimal information.
I knew there was a waterfall around here, and that the campground was downstream of it. It did take a bit of exploring to finally find this almost 90ft waterfall. But absolutely worth the extra effort!
Frog Falls Recreation Site is located in the North Okanogan, about 4-5km up Wap Lake Forestry Service Road (Wap FSR) between Revelstoke and Sicamous in eastern B.C.
This area has a small, old growth, moss covered, forested campground that is beautiful with only 5 unserviced sites on a first come first serve basis. Nestled along the Wap River on an active industrial service road, drive with caution.
When you find Frog Falls Rec Site, you'll notice the fork in the roads. The road to the right will bring you into the campground, the bumpy road to the left will bring you closer to the waterfall. You'll want a vehicle with decently high clearance to make it to the end of the road, the base of Frog Falls. You can hike in from the campground instead as well.
When you find the entrance tunnel for the hydroelectric facility along Wap River, you are almost to the falls. Most people will park here and walk in, up river, to the waterfall itself. You can drive to the end of the road, which is past the old hydro shaft. If you get that far up the road, the waterfall is a 5 minute hike up some very clear trails from this point.
A huge raging waterfall, even in the fall, I can only imagine the power this waterfall puts out in the spring time!

I heard a slight trickling sound behind one of the campsites. I wandered back because at this point I have no idea where the falls are, I just knew they are in this area, and upstream from the campground. Once I saw which direction the water was heading, I knew the general direction I needed to go.
Now, I don't believe I have ever run into this species of grouse before. I know a few, but guessing at this one...I would guess a Ruffed Grouse? I may need Dr Sonyas help identifying this cute fella
If you've hiked in from the Frog Falls campground, this would be a lovely spot to stop and take a rest if needed. You're almost there.

If driving, most people park in this area and hike in from here. If you have a high clearance vehicle, and the weather is fair, you shouldn't have a problem continuing to drive a bit closer to the falls from here.
Where the road ends, I jumped out of my vehicle to have a listen and see if I was getting any closer to the falls. Afterall, I was not even sure I was on the right road at the beginning of this excursion.

As you can see in the not far distance, mist was falling, and the thunderous roar of a large waterfall was starting to peek through the rugged backcountry terrain.
It was a cool October day, but with the sun shining through the trees, it made for much warmer pockets. Once I enjoyed was right in the mist of the waterfall
There is no need to climb this higher rocky section. The views below are wonderful. But if you're feeling adventurous, and have the right skills, this is the way to go.
