Reed Lake is the best Birdwatching area I have ever visited. Convieniently located just off of HWY 1, I try to stop here every time I pass by. Depending on the time of year, and the weather, this area is teeming with different species of birds. Fall is a fantastic time to visit Morse Saskatchewan and take a trip over to Reed Lake. The high number of migratory birds passing through make it a wonderful stop along the Trans Canada Hwy between Swift Current and Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. Sunrise and sunset are also great times to visit this area as the viewpoint really helps with the beautiful full east and west facing prairie views.

There is 1 small picnic table as well as a small garbage can, an awesome 2 level viewing platform and some interpretive signs to learn about the area. Washrooms available nearby in the town of Morse Saskatchewan.

This trail is only useful if the weather had been dry. If it's wet, you'll just slip slide and sink into the mud.

Trying to take a photo through the binoculars. I would say it worked not too bad! Can clearly identify this pelican floating on Reed Lake.

With only my cellphone in hand, trying to a photo of the birds with just the phone wasn't working. Putting the phone to the binocular lense seemed to do the trick well enough! Some Tundra Swans visit Reed Lake

Without the binoculars, I personally wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between tundra swans and snow geese. Luckily the handy signs at the lake and the vortex binos helped me identify these as tundra swans!

As evening sets in, the birds become less and less frequent on the lake. But it is still worth staying to enjoy the sunset with the perfect westward view
