Winnipeg, MB - Across Canada in search of #BIGselfies trip 2014
At the Royal Canadian Mint, which was very interesting, I would heartily recommend a visit although sadly for security reasons there was no photos allowed after this point so this is one of just a couple of photos I got.

Sometimes when travelling things just fall neatly into place! so while I may have been a touch on the early side during my trip for some activities I happened by sheer luck to pass by Narcisse just in time for the snakes to being waking up after their winter nap. In fact it is the biggest collection of reptiles anywhere in the world and was doubly cool as I have a BBC video of Sir David Attenborough talking about this very place :-)

Elm Creek, MB - Across Canada in search of #BIGselfies trip 2014
Apart from being one of the windiest places I passed through Elm Creek is also home to the worlds second largest fire hydrant. There is a regular hydrant to the bottom left in this photo to give you an idea of just how large it is! Strangely my extensive research shows that this although easily eclipsing the previous biggest hydrant record falls in second place as a hydrant in the U.S is bigger and was in construction at exactly the same time as this one. This is weird because there were two giant hydrants being built at the same time and disappointing that as Canadians we didn't just add a few extra feet to win the race, this one was finished last after all
