Iceberg Hunting in Ferryland, Nl
Icebergs float down the coast of Newfoundland very year! Some years are better than others and this year is shaping up to be an epic year! Icebergs are mesmerizing and beautiful! Funny thing is that as child I never once thought of going out in a boat to get a closer look or driving an hour away in hopes of getting a better glimpse! Tourists and locals love them! Whatcha waiting for? Come on and visit!

  • I was in Ferryland NL last year! Not at iceberg time though. Such a nice community and I was so interested in the archaeological site there.

  • Lori King I was there in October, so perhaps not the right time for bergs. Next time I visit NL it will be in spring or summer.

I took some extra days and did all the fun St. John's activities such as Signal Hill, Jelly Row, the Rooms, historical sites, waterfront, George St. HEY, I am an honorary Newfie too (most proud of this!) as I got screeched in at Trapper John's Museum and Pub and have the certificate. Visited Quidi Vidi, Petty Harbour, Cape Spear Lighthouse and Historic Park. Then I drove the Irish Loop south from St. John's around the Avalon Peninsula, stopping at all the little villages along the way.

Therefore, I get very excited when I see yours and Cora Lee's posts and I recognize a place as -- I was there! I was there I was there! Then ever so curious to see and read about all the places I did not have the time to visit. Next time: Icebergs, puffins, more trails and water adventures and trips to the north!
