Exploring the grounds of the estate of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Canada. Government House is the office and official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. Travelers can visit the Government House grounds from dawn to dusk year round and it is free. However there are rules when visiting the Government House in Victoria BC.
No loud noises. Respect others. Free parking is available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on leash.
Government House is a short walk from Downtown Victoria.

This is an annual tradition celebrated by the Vice Regal offices throughout Canada. In BC the doors open at 10 AM and the ceremonial home of all British Columbians provides light refreshments, entertainment and a last opportunity to look at the festive decor, the event ends at noon and what is so great about it --it's FREE!
