Pothole Park in downtown Invermere, British Columbia, is a vibrant public space with a small forest at one end, and a natural grass amphitheatre at the other.
It is called ‘Pothole Park’ because it is sunken into the ground, below the surface of the street. In 2005, the District of Invermere, turned Pothole Park into a space that could be utilized by the community for various events throughout the year. There is a pathway around the perimeter of the space, a tiny bridge, large rocks for seating, an outdoor amphitheatre and washrooms at Pothole Park in Invermere, British Columbia, Canada.
At the entrance to the Pothole Park is a tall bronze statue of explorer David Thompson (the first European to navigate the full length of the Columbia River) and his wife Charlotte Small.
