Campbell Point is a sightseeing destination on the east side of Mayne Island, BC, Canada. Mayne Island is part of the Gulf Islands on the west coast of British Columbia. The point is one of the best destinations on the island for marine and wildlife views.

A flat 2-2.5 kilometre hiking trail leads visitors through a forest of trees to a point on a small peninsula with a beach lookout. From Campbell Point visitors can enjoy sightseeing and wildlife viewing opportunities including seabirds, predator birds, waterfowl and lots of marine activity.

The views from the point reach as far as Saturna Island and Mount Baker on a a clear day. Closer to Mayne Island the views include Campbell Bay and Edith Point on your left and Bennett Bay on your right. Straight ahead the views include Georgeson Island and the Georgia Strait.

Georgeson Island is a sandstone island decorated with twisted arbutus trees and protected Garry Oaks. Visitors are not permitted on the island as it is a protected eco system. Boaters need be aware that at low tides the water is shallow between the Campbell Point and Georgeson Island. The point and island are connected by flat rock and mud flats.

Campbell Point and Georgeson Island are both part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. And neighbouring Campbell Bay is the deepest bay on Mayne Island. The bay is a popular for boating, sailing, kayaking and swimming.

Some of the activities enjoyed at Campbell Point include hiking, beachcombing, swimming, picnicking and birdwatching. Bennett Bay is considered one of the better sandy beaches on Mayne Island and that is close by.

How To Get ToCampbell Point

Travel to Mayne Island in the Southern Gulf Islands off the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. From the Village Bay BC Ferry Terminal on the Mayne Island travel on Village Bay Road to Miners Bay Dock. Turn onto Fernhill Road and continue traveling east to Bennett Bay Road. Follow Bennett Bay Road left to Wilkes Road. Continue on Wilkes to Isabella Lane and the trailhead leading to Campbell Point.
