Cycling in British Columbia, Canada

The amazing wilderness scenery, the raging rivers, the towering mountain ranges, the vast grasslands, Canada's only desert, the many wetlands, the thousands of lakes, the unique communities, the wildlife and the great Pacific Ocean are all part of the British Columbia cycling experience.

Deciding on the length of the ride and the destination will play a big part in the type of scenery, services and accommodations available to you along the way. Some riding, as in any country, involve long distances with big gaps between services. And then in other parts of the province there are short day rides with many possible stops for services. We have it all.

Places like the Okanagan Valley, Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast regions enjoy popular British Columbia cycling routes. The services many. The communities are close. The scenery is amazing.

Some of the more wilderness cycle routes with long distances between communities that are explored by cyclist include the Northern BC route from Prince George to Prince Rupert. A wild country following rivers, mountains and full of wildlife. The Western Kootenay route from the community of Nelson to Kaslo to Nakusp is also a very nice long haul ride full of scenery and wildlife.

There are many more British Columbia cycling routes available, as many highways loop and connect. Along many of the highway routes are Provincial and National parks, as well as, recreation sites for camping. Although recreation sites are mostly found on gravel roads and may be too tough on the tires.
