eh Lillooet Road Trip – 3 Lasting Impressions

Lillooet BC Road Trip – 2017

Lillooet Left Me With 3 Impressions On This Visit

Recently I took a road trip exploring the Cariboo-Chilcotin Region of British Columbia with one of the stops on the tour being Lillooet, British Columbia, Canada. During this research mission I was reminded of 3 things about Lillooet, BC . Sometimes, what a local might see everyday, is eye candy for those visitors who arrive wide-eyed and with blinders off .

It has been awhile since I last visited the community. Hence why everything looks so new again.  Here are 3 of the biggest impressions left with me during my visit.

Lillooet BC Mountains

OMG! The mountains of Lillooet surround the entire community and they are steep, dramatic and so jaw dropping beautiful. Nice thing about Lillooet Mountains is that they are on top of you, totally unobstructed and enjoyed from all parts of the community.

Fraser River in Lillooet BC

The Fraser River in Lillooet, British Columbia carves out deep canyons and is home to dinosaur fish we call Sturgeon. There are numerous bridges crossing the river providing great views and hiking paths exploring the banks of the river up close and personal. You have never seen the river like this before, so natural and untouched.

The Old Bridge in Lillooet BC

To some of you this may be an odd choice. But for us who love to travel we tend to find a favorite spot in a community we like to call our “special place”. In Lillooet, BC I found such a place. At this place I could walk for kilometres, watch the Fraser River roar and locals fish. This was my place of tranquility. In between visits with tourism businesses and researching Lillooet I would park here by the Old Bridge and mentally and physically wander  and exhale. It is also home to an Eagle’s Nest and some chirping entertainment.

My Accommodation in Lillooet, BC

Thank you to the staff and to Dave and Michele (owners) of Reynolds Motel for a great time and for your hospitality. When in Lillooet look these guys up. They provide rooms, a restaurant, a pub and a beer and wine store.
