Murray Reservoir, also known as Murray Lake, is a fun fishing hole in southeastern Alberta just a short road trip away from Medicine Hat.

Lions Park is one of the more forested parks in the community connecting to a good trail system. Lions Park is well maintained with sitting benches, groves of cottonwood trees, large grass lawns, picnic areas and information signs.

The Leitch Collieries are a reminder of the early coal mining days. Built from sandstone, some with pillars, the structures are very impressive to view. The architecture was ahead of its time for coal mining.

Bellevue

The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a birding hot spot in Calgary, Alberta. The Nature Centre provides park information, trail maps and birdwatching checklists. Also at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a day use picnic area and some washrooms.

Calgary

The Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump preserves and protects the actual site of a buffalo hunt. The site is the oldest buffalo hunting grounds of its kind in North America. And in 1981 the site was recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Fort MacLeod

An absolute gem in Alberta, Canada. Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai'pi Provincial Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in southern Alberta near the U.S. Canadian border to Montana. Explore breathtaking scenery in this history filled area that is surrounded by unique land formations.

Some of the waterfowl sightings in the Frank Lake area include Northern pintail, Lesser scaup, Ring-necked duck, Canvasback, Green-winged teal, American wigeon, Northern shoveler, Bufflehead, Ruddy duck, Snow goose and Tundra swan.

High River

The falls require no hiking and are easily accessible. Cameron Falls is one of the most visited natural attractions in the park and one of the most photographed. The falls are an ideal destination for all ages and abilities. The walkway is wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.

Waterton

Riverside Park is a veterans memorial park easily located next to the Medicine Hat, Alberta City Hall. The park includes a cenotaph, monuments, some art work and a water fountain.

Medicine Hat

When visiting Emerson Lake there are people walking their dogs, jogging, roller blading, taking day strolls, picnicking and birdwatching. Some stay in the park while others continue exploring on the Happy Trails Pathway.

High River

The Beatrice Wyndham Park is a small birdwatching and aviation sightseeing park situated in the Air Ranch neighborhood in the community of Okotoks, Alberta in the Southern Alberta Foothills region of Canada.

Okotoks

The Bertha Lake Trail highlight destinations include Bertha Falls and Bertha Lake. Both are accessed from the same trail. The trailhead is located near the campground in the Waterton Townsite.

Waterton

Rotary Park is situated on the hill north of Memorial Drive and east of Centre Street in the northeast. At the south end of Rotary Park is a beautiful vantage point called Jim Fish Ridge. Named for Jim Fish, a long-time parks visionary and supporter.

Calgary

Sheep River Park is the main activity destination in the river valley which extends from one end of the community to the other in an east-west direction. Access to the green space areas outside the Sheep River Park are best enjoyed via a 16 kilometre network of trails.

Okotoks

The wooden fort consisted of sleeping quarters, a guard room, storage sheds and horse stables. The purpose of the fort was to investigate and get rid of the whisky traders who had set up shop in the region.
