Cottonwood Lake Park is a day use park located south of the community of Nelson, BC in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The six hectare lake is a popular park destination for such activities as fishing, canoeing, boating, birdwatching, picnicking and swimming.

Kootenay Photo Gallery - Cottonwood Lake ParkCottonwood Lake Park amenities include two large picnic shelters, pit toilets, picnic tables and a hiking trail. The trail circles the lake providing great views and providing some access areas for shore fishing. Cottonwood Lake is an ideal spot for large gatherings and family picnics.

The lake permits boating but only electric motors only. There is a boat launch in the park for accessing the lake. The boat launch is for small boats and canoes. The fish in the lake to be caught include small kokanee and rainbow trout.

The recreation lake is not a campground, but a day site. There is no camping here. But there is a large gravel parking lot for day use visitors. And there are some pit toilets nearby.

How To Get ToCottonwood Lake, Nelson

Travel to the community of Nelson, BC. Once in Nelson travel south on Hwy #6 to the park entrance. The entrance is hard to find as it is hidden partially by trees and the entrance sign is hidden during our visit.
