A lovely small hamlet along the foothills in Southern Alberta

Previous to the name Granum, the area was referred to as "The Village of Leavings". Granum is the Latin word for Grain. With a population of under 500, it's a pretty neat place to visit with plenty to offer.

Places of Interest - Lone Plot Has a Story

A popular local tale involves the town Cemetery. As you drive by you may notice 1 plot is far outside of the rest of the cemetery. Local tales would have you believe she was a "lady of the night" and when she passed she was not welcome with the rest of the town residents. She's resting peacefully outside of the caragana bushes but not because of her past or history. She's outside because of a surveying error! She was the 1st resident buried there and they messed up! Leaving her on the outside of the designated cemetery.
