Canola Fields of Dreams

Meeting of the minds! The last couple of days have been spent working on the computer, exchanging travel stories with Bro and exploring in and around Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Oh.. yah, and we fit in a late game of golf. I am still the family golf  champion!! Doing the victory dance, shaking my booty.

Up at 6 AM this morning and on the road to Red Deer. First stop was a nice morning walk in the Gaetz Bird Sanctuary.  Except there were no birds on this morning. I could hear them, but not see them. As for water fowl.. not one in sight. It was just me, some joggers and a beaver dam. They did not come out and play either.

Did my duty – took a few pictures and moved on. Next was the McKenzie Trails. Lots more action. There were joggers, bird watchers and bikers in the park. Still not many birds except a lone loon giving himself a bath. It was still early in the morning.. so maybe the birds slept in. However.. there was a beautiful women also taking pictures this morning. We bonded and talked for awhile.

Dogs Paying Attention

Dogs Paying Attention

Full of confidence now, I strut my stuff to 3 Mile Bend.. which is another park. This park is an off leash park. It is also a park shared with the local ski club. It just happen on this day they were taking runs down a jump and landing in the lake. It was pretty cool to watch.  So many dogs. If you do not get along with dogs this park would not do you well.

Bath Time

My time today was good so I decided to take a drive down to Innisfail and visit the Wildlife Discovery Centre. There were bears, monkeys, ostrich, skunk, porcupine, lions and others. They looked so sad and lazy in the sun. I cannot help but feel sorry for them cooped up like that. I did my thing and moved on.

Finished my day at Gleniffer Lake. It is a massive lake created by the Dickson Dam and the Red River. It is a popular spot for water skiing and swimming and camping. The lake is set in the middle of nowhere. On the way to the lake are fields and fields of canola. There was so much yellow going on I had to get a picture.

Bro is in Edmonton and I am here doing some work. What is wrong with this picture.. ha ha ha.

Talk soon.. get out and enjoy your day!
