As part of the Winter Film Series: Black America on Screen the Niagara Falls History Museum is presenting Hollywood Shuffle at 7:00 pm on February 8th. Hollywood Shuffle is a satire representation of #RobertTownsend, who was the director, producer, co-writer, and lead actor of the film, experience as a black actor when he was told he was “not black enough.”
The film showed how there were few substantial roles for black actors, and that the roles that were available were demeaning and misrepresentative of the black population. For more information visit their website https://niagarafallsmuseums.ca/
