Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada is a small town influenced by culture and recreation. The community rests on the banks of the Kapuskasing River - surrounded by lakes and forest - in the Wilderness Region of northern Ontario, Canada. Kapuskasing, Ontario is the commercial centre for the immediate area servicing the smaller villages of Moonbeam, Opasatika, Harty, Val-Rita and Fauquier. The communities are surrounded by lakes, boreal forest, marsh, bogs and rivers.

After the snow falls and the temperatures drop the adventures enjoyed in the region include xc skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Remi Lake, which hosts an ice fishing derby, is a very popular ice fishing destination. There are many other stocked and natural lakes in the region for fishing.

Rene Brunelle Provincial Park located east of Kapuskasing and the urban Riverside Park located in town are the two most popular parks in the area.
