Sproat Lake Provincial Park

Sproat Lake is a recreation lake located west of the community of Port Alberni, BC on Vancouver Island, Canada. The park is easily accessible therefore it is a very popular park in the summer months for swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing and water skiing.
Port Alberni
The 43 hectare park is surrounded by unique year round waterfront homes and resorts. Many with private piers and boats. Respect their properties and do not access private piers.

The hiking trails in the park are a great way to explore the lake and enjoy the views - maybe even find your own private piece of the lake. Some trails are wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.

One of the trails on the east side of Sproat Lake explores under the canopy of Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar trees before connecting to the K'ak'awin Petroglyphs. These ancient First Nation drawings supposedly represent that monsters which once lived in the lake!

There are 3 separate picnic sites located throughout the day-use area in Sproat Lake Provincial Park. There are fire pits, a large grassy area, pit toilets and 2 flush toilet buildings (one next to the boat launch and one by the lower campground.) Down by the lakeshore is a grassy area and sandy beach.

There is a lower and upper campground in the park. In the campground are running water taps, hot showers and a boat launch. No sani-station, playground or electrical hook up available in this park.
