The trailhead is 7.8 km past the Golden Spruce trailhead, or 11.3 km from the end of the paved main road in Port Clements. A huge sign indicates the beginning of the trail along an old road. Follow this old road for a few hundred meters, crossing a bridge along the way. When the old road appears to end, you will see a small sign pointing towards the "Canoe Trail" on the left.


The actual trail portion of this hike is brief at 400 meters. The crescent-shaped route is single-track, but well maintained. You will come upon the unfinished Haida canoe, estimated to be around 150 years old, at the trail's endpoint.


NOTE: There are a number of unfinished canoes throughout the forests of Haida Gwaii.
This one is the most readily accessible.
