Fountain (Kwotlenemo) Lake in Lillooet, Cariboo-Chilcotin Region, British Columbia, Canada is a very popular destination for many who visit the region. Fountain Lake, also referred to by the local First Nation people as Kwotlenemo Lake, is part of the Three Valley Chain which includes the Chilhil and Cinquefoil Lakes.

The three lakes attract plenty of outdoor enthusiasts to the area. Most arrive at Fountain Lake in the summer months to enjoy a day or many days fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking and camping in the lake region.

Fountain Lake is the busiest recreational lake out of the three in the Three Valley Chain during the summer months. The four wilderness recreation campsites located on the lake have allot to do with that... as many people arrive with campers, trailers, Rvs and tents for multi day stays.

The campsites vary depending on which campground one picks. Some sites enjoy camping on the lake shore while others are private in the trees. There is a north, west, east and south campground on the lake. Each with access to boat launches, some rougher than others. Only canoes, kayaks and small electric motor boats permitted on the lakes.

The southern campground is the largest one of the four. All four campgrounds are paying campgrounds with each campsite providing a fire ring, a picnic table and access to pit toilets.

Many arrive to the lakes to fish and camp. The lake is best fished trolling the waters. Fountain Lake is stocked with rainbow trout.

From the community of Lillooet, travel east along Highway 99 to Fountain Valley Road which will appear on your right. Continue driving down the paved road for approximately 7 kilometres to Fountain Lake.
