Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park is located south of Roberts Creek and just north of Gibsons, BC in the backcountry of the lower Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada. The 139 hectare (345 acre) Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park is comprised of three separate parcels of land located on the southwest side of Mount Elphinstone.

The region is a wilderness park with a varied network of trails, both for hiking and mountain biking. There are easy day walks and there are long haul backpacking and mountain biking treks. The network of deactivated logging roads is intense attracting many with ATVs and motorbikes to the park.

The Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park trails are a combination of logging roads, forest paths and some highway riding for the mountain bikers. The hiking and biking in this region is very much forests, mountains, wildlife and rivers. It is especially known for the different types of mushrooms that grow in the area and the rare flowering plants. There are no facilities in this Provincial Park - it is all wilderness.

The Mount Elphinstone 42 km (26 mi.) Bike Loop Route enjoys some great viewpoints of the west coast islands and some mountain views of Mount Elphinstone and the Tetrahedron Mountain Range. The entire route is said to be a tough challenge and should take 3-4 hours to complete. Much of the biking on this route is done on the highway, starting from the Langdale BC Ferry which arrives from the Vancouver mainland. So, ditch the car and ride the bike over might be an idea.

From the Langdale ferry take a right (watch for traffic as vehicles unload from the ferry) and travel the Port Mellon Highway for 9 km (5.6 mi.). On the left look for the Dakota Creek Forest Service Road sign. It is a big climb on loose rock. (Reverse route to come down this steep challenging incline)

At the 4.5 km (2.7 mi.) take a left at the 2011 road marker. Continue for another 2.1 km (1.3 mi.) stay right at the junction and continue going for another 3 km (1.8 mi.). At the junction stay right until you reach Field Road. Also part of the Roberts Creek Loop Mountain Biking Trail. Climb the left fork and then buckle in for some downhill time to Roberts Creek and Hwy 101 where you take a left and head back to Gibsons.
