Mowat Bay is situated on beautiful Powell Lake located on the top portion of the Sunshine Coast closest to the community of Powell River BC. Mowat Bay is next door to Inland Lake and home to Haywire Park ... so the lake destination has a selection of destinations to visit with by canoe, boat or take a drive and hike.
Mowat Bay is a perfect beach for families and friends. The area enjoys a sandy beach, cement theatre like benches, boat launch and great scenery. This is said to be one of the best beach destinations in the Powell River area.
The region provides visitors with many of the needed outdoor amenities to enjoy a full day at a lake. Powell Lake is such an attractive destination for families and outdoor recreational enthusiast because there is a boat launching area, large grass area for sun tanning, a children's playground, washrooms and a large public parking area.
The Mowat Bay Trail a tougher hiking trail covering 2.3 km. The hiking and walking trail stretches from Powell Lake Bridge to Mowat Bay.

:How to Get Here: To get to the bay follow Hwy 101 to the community of Powell River, BC where then you follow Duncan Street to Manson Avenue to Cranberry Street. Turn on Cranberry, then north on Mowat. Look for the signs and big parking lot.
