Skimikin Lake is located near Tappen, BC which is located northwest of the community of Salmon Arm in the Shuswap Lake region of British Columbia, Canada.

Skimikin Lake is a year round recreation destination filled with opportunities for activity. Some of the summer adventures enjoyed include horseback riding, camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking and wildlife watching. In the winter months the trails become snowshoe routes. In total there are over 100+ kilometres of recreation trails to explore.

The recreation area provides some amenities including a wilderness campground, pit toilets, beach access, day use area, and horse corrals. in fact there are over 15 corrals throughout the area. There is a camping fee and campground supervisor on site.

From Salmon Arm, BC follow Hwy #1 for 14.1 km and turn west onto Tappen Valley Rd. Continue for 4 km and then turn left/west onto Skimikin Lake Rd. Continue another 6 km to the lake.
