Blanket Creek Provincial Park is a recreation destination situated on the western shores of Upper Arrow Lake which is located south of the community of Revelstoke, BC, Canada in the Kootenay region. The lake park was established in 1982 and protects 318 hectares of sensitive habitat that surrounds Blanket Creek and Sutherland Falls.

Blanket Creek Park is a recreation lake destination popular for swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, sightseeing, birdwatching, camping, picnicking and fishing.

The Blanket Creek Park is planted in a forest of white pine, western cedar and second growth western hemlock trees. The park on Upper Arrow Lake includes a day use area, car top boat launch, campground and hiking trails. The boat launch is not directly on the lake and requires a short portage.

The campground services RVs, tenters and campers. The park includes picnic tables, fire pits, flush toilets, pit toilets and a sandy beach area. The beach area is part of the Day Use Area which includes grass lawns, picnic tables, swimming area, children's playground, pit toilets, change rooms and a separate dog beach lagoon nearby.

Blanket Creek Provincial Park is a hiking destination for all ages as the trails are short and easily accessible. There are 3 trails in the park. The Sutherland Falls Hiking Trail is the most popular as it leads to a 12 metre high waterfall. The short, almost 1 kilometre trail, is an easy grade hike leading to a viewpoint that should take no more than 5 -10 minutes to complete one way.

A second hiking trail is located at the south end of the park. There are big stumps visible along the 2 kilometre trail as it leads to an old pioneer farm. The farm is known as the Domke Homestead. The old rock fences, a pond and the wide array of trees are reminders of the 1940's lifestyle once enjoyed by the pioneers.

A third hiking trail in the Blanket Creek Provincial Park is a small trail connecting the campground to the Day Use Area and the sandy beach.

Travel south from Revelstoke towards the Blanket Creek Park one might want to stop and explore some other nearby recreation destinations like the Begbie Creek Trail and the MacPherson Trails. Further south of Blanket Creek is another provincial park named the Shelter Bay Park. It is next door to a lake ferry connecting Shelter Bay with Galena. From Galena the adventure continues in the community of Nakusp, BC.

How to Get to Blanket Creek:

Travel south from the community of Revelstoke, BC, Canada along Highway 23 for approximately 25 kilometres to the park entrance.
