James White Park is a community park situated on the banks of the Elk River in the community of Fernie, BC in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The park is a recreation destination with many services popular for picnicking, hiking, tennis and baseball. There are picnic tables, fire pits and the Lizard Range Frisbee Golf Course. In the distance are some pit toilets and a short trail accessing the Elk River.

In one corner of the park are 4 tennis courts, as well as, a baseball diamond. Not far away is a horseshoe pit. Remember to bring your own horseshoes.

Following the Elk River and passing through the James White Park is the Montview Hiking Trail.  Other trails to access from the park via the Montview Trail include the Brewery Creek and Dogwood Trails.

In the summer months the Montview Trail is used by mountain bikers, cyclists, hikers, joggers and dog walkers. Please keep your head up and share the trail. In the winter months the trail is used by cross country skiers and snowshoers as an access route to and from the community.

How To Get ToJames White Park, Fernie

:
Travel north to the first bridge crossing over the Elk River on Highway #3. Take a right on any of the first streets on your right as you cross the bridge. Take another right on Park Avenue and cross the Coal Creek Bridge. Take a right on Mt. Minton Road which leads you to the park. Also another entrance is located on Mt. McLean Street.
