Village of Lone Butte, BC, Canada in the South Cariboo-Chilcotin Region of British Columbia is a small townsite in the heart of lake country situated on the "Fishing Highway" (Hwy 24) located east of 100 Mile House, British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1900, the townsite was named after the "lone butte" that peeks out from behind the community.

The townsite is small with a general store, community hall, a park and some other buildings located on main street (Hwy 24). It is the surrounding wilderness area around Lone Butte, the many lakes, that one will find a good selection of resorts, retreats, lodges, B&Bs and cottages servicing travelers from around the world.

The townsite is a doorway community to the hundreds of recreational lakes in the region. Most of the lakes connect together via an extensive network of gravel roads and wilderness hiking trails. Many of the routes lead back to Hwy 24 "The Fishing Highway" and many who enter the Interlakes district will start from Lone Butte, BC.

The lake region is a maze of lakes attracting many people to the region to fish for rainbow and lake trout. Some of the larger lakes around Lone Butte like Horse, Sheridan and Green Lake attracts many to the region to canoe and camp.

The back country gravel roads vary from well maintained to loose rocks, pot holes and switchbacks. The road and trail system is an ideal playground for ATVs and dirt bikes. Like any ranchland country, the Lone Butte trail system also caters to horseback riding.

During the winter months, the gravel road and trail network exploring the backcountry regions around Lone Butte, BC become white with snow. And snow, in the Lone Butte area only means one thing - having fun while snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.
