Dempster Hwy – Inuvik

Had a quick nap and toured the village of Inuvik and some of the parks in the region.

The landscape around the village is very flat, wet and is known as the Mackenzie River Delta.  The wetland region  is birdwatching and wildlife country. The Gwich’in Territorial Park reserve protects some of the delta and has four parks within its park boundaries.

Just south of Inuvik is one of those parks. The small little pull out day-use park named Nih-tak is our first stop on our trip back.  We decided to eat here and make some notes and do some computer work in the arctic sun.

Here is a picture of me hacking away at the keyboard.
