Laycock Park is a 27-acre family and pet-friendly park that has recently had some great new improvements made. There is a new Basketball Court near the 6th Street parking lot, a new Kids Playground, and more benches and picnic tables have been added. The 1.87km footpath is now paved making this park a great place to walk, jog, or bike ride. The paving has linked the regional pathway to the west and the parking lot to the east.

The old wooden pedestrian bridge was closed after the 2013 flood and has now been removed and replaced with a new floodproof paved pedestrian bridge over Nose Creek.

There is a covered picnic shelter near the kid's playground that has picnic tables to use and benches have been added near the playground.

With lots of green space and plenty of trees for shade, Laycock Park is a great place to spend some time outdoors.

The park has a large off-leash area for dogs and signage to let you know when you are entering an area where your dog needs to be leashed. Please always pick up after your dog and use the disposal bins.

On the north side, close to 64th Avenue you'll find the Baseball Diamonds. Getting to the diamonds from 6th Street parking lot is a bit of a walk but an easy one along the newly paved walkway. The closest parking for the diamonds would be street parking on Blackthorn Road.

Free parking off 6th Street NE closest to Basketball Court) and street parking may be available on Blackthorn Road NE.
