Many say the highlight of the park is the sandy beach and the outdoor activities. The water of Caliper Lake has a reputation for being clean and, especially, warm during the summer months attracting many to the park during the season.

Some of the summer activities enjoyed in the Caliper Lake Provincial Park include hiking, canoeing, fishing, boating, wildlife watching and swimming. The beach swimming area is roped off and provides a floating dock.

Fishing in the park is for walleye, northern pike, crappy and smallmouth bass. There are two boat launches for accessing the lake and a dock for moorage. A fish cleaning station is on site. A fishing licence is required for fishing in the park.

Within the park boundaries is a campground and day use picnic site with some picnic shelters. The services provided include a sani-station, washrooms, day use picnic area, playground and a campground with serviced and unserviced campsites. Park entrance and camping fees apply.

Rentals are also available in the park. One can rent a canoe, kayak, bike and/or paddle boat during their stay in the park during the summer months.

For those who would like to explore the wilderness environment in the park there is a hiking trail named the Beaver Pond Trail. The trail explores a forest and marsh environment with a beaver pond.

The hiking route measures 2.7 to 4 Kilometres. It is considered a moderate hike suitable for all ages with some steep sections. The Beaver Pond Trail should take no longer than 1.5 to 3 hours to complete depending on the route taken and the number of times you stop for photographs.

There are birding opportunities in the park while exploring the trail and lake. Some of the birds include loons, pelicans, grouse, eagles, ospreys and barn owls which nest in the region. While exploring you may even see a deer or bear.
