Exploring the Majesty of this Provincial Park

While many travelers head straight to nearby Algonquin, this Provincial Park destination should not be overlooked. Specifically, a short hiking trail is provided for visitors, leading directly from the parking lot to a stunning lookout. From this vantage point, the thundering whitewater is observed by onlookers as it crashes over ancient rock. Because of the site's unique history, the powerful, erosive force of glacial meltwater is demonstrated by the rugged terrain of Gravel Falls.

Winter Waterfalls, Ice, and Danger in Ontario

Furthermore, the landscape is dramatically transformed during the winter months. However, significant danger is presented by the accumulation of ice near the rushing water. Consequently, extreme caution must be exercised by those who choose to climb along the rocks toward the bottom of the falls. Although an equally impressive view is offered at the river's edge, safety guidelines must be followed at all times. Whether you are visiting for the summer mist or the frozen peaks of January, the majesty of this location is guaranteed to leave you in awe.
