Eleanor Kidd Park and Gardens is a picnic and floral garden park, standing side by side, on the banks of the Assiniboine River located in the community of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Both the gardens and park enjoy views and access to the Assiniboine River.
The Eleanor Kidd Gardens is a vibrant display of floral colors. There are gardens of annuals and perennials surrounded by groves of trees and various shrubs.
There are hanging flower baskets, potted flowers, cement displays with flowers and overhead wooden atriums covered in flowers. The garden park is filled with scents and sights like reds, purples, oranges, yellows, pinks and blues - it is a grand collection of rainbow colors.
Within the garden park are a Performance Plaza and a Fountain Plaza. The Performance Plaza includes a stage with seating for outdoor art performances. The Fountain Plaza includes a life like bronze sculpture of a doe and two fawns.
Throughout the garden park are paved walking paths. The level, easy going paths connect to the banks of the Assiniboine River and to the Eleanor Kidd Park next door. The paths are wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.
The Eleanor Kidd Park next to the garden park is a day use picnic park. There are facilities like picnic tables, BBQ pits, wood supply, a picnic shelter, washrooms and tree carvings.
The park and gardens are connected to the Riverbank Trail which is a popular community hiking, biking and sightseeing trail following the banks of the Assiniboine River.
