Innisfail, Alberta parks, photo galleyGleniffer Lake is fed by the Red Deer River and measures 7 kilometres long and 2 kilometres wide. It was named after a post office that once serviced the area long ago. The post office stood on the same site as the present day dam.

Along the shores of the lake are various points of interest including sandy beaches, boat launches, day use picnic sites and viewpoints. In total there are 4 boat launches, 6 day use picnic sites on the lake and 2 day use picnic sites on the Red Deer River located below the dam.

The boat launches are located at the North Dyke, South Dyke and Cottonwood day-use areas. A roof top canoe launch is available at the Portage day-use area. Below the Dickson Dam are two more boat launches. One of which is located at the South Valley day-use area.

Summer activities enjoyed on Gleniffer Lake include swimming, camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing and birdwatching. Swimming is best enjoyed at Dickson Point, South Dyke and North Dyke day use picnic sites.

Along the shores of Gleniffer Lake are campgrounds and resorts. There are attractions in the region as well like museums, a golf course, gardens and some organic farms.
