Somerset Community Park is in a beautiful residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Somerset Community Park can be enjoyed by both young, and old, and persons of all abilities with its new inclusive Playground and Splashpad. Although the park is open year-round, some of the park's amenities are closed in winter. Washrooms are seasonal. Paved pathways, a pavilion, beautiful flower gardens, benches, and six shaded picnic tables are there for your enjoyment.
The Somerset Community Association operates the Park, however, the City of Calgary owns the land and therefore open to the public to use.
There is plenty of free street parking around Somerset Park making this park very easy to access.
The Splashpad at Somerset Community Park has had recent updates in 2022. The Splashpad opens mid-June to early September from 9 am - 8 pm. Changerooms - Washrooms are seasonal and open when the Splashpad is.
The kids will love the 3 large playgrounds at Somerset Community Park where children of all abilities can play and enjoy the outdoors. The new inclusive playground is very impressive with very easy access. Fully accessible Merry-Go-Round, fully accessible Rocking Raft, Saucer Swing, Rope Climbers, Ramps, and a Communication Board. Swing, Climb, Slide or Ride a Hippo, the kids will be kept busy with all the fun things to do at this well-done community park.
Somerset Community Park has two tennis courts surrounded by lovely shade trees and two basketball courts for sports enthusiasts. Use is weather permitting.
