“2013 Bucket List” – eh Yearly Tradition

“2013 Bucket List” – eh Yearly Tradition

Hiking & Backpacking in Banff National Park

New Year Resolutions, when honoured, are a good thing. Not so much for me. I prefer to make a “Bucket List” in the New Year. Some think it is a cop-out. I say different.

A “Bucket List” gives me a bit more flexibility and a far greater chance of success of achieving some of the items on my, so called, TO-DO list. And, because I have sat down and put together a list which reminds me everyday of my adventure wants I get to enjoy some of the greatest moments in my life exploring Canada. To that… I owe very much to our country including peace of mind and moments of serenity, happiness, reflection, laughter, appreciation and much more. Plus… items which are not fulfilled during the year is not a great let down because I can always push-it-forward onto a “Bucket Waiting List” for years to come.

Mount Robson, BC, Canada

A “Bucket List” consisting of my dream adventures is based. largely, around my ever changing schedule involving travel, web design, researching, public speaking and marketing. So things pop up and some items on the list pay the price every year. But the good news is… many items come true. Lets hope 2013 is the same.

My bother and I (The EH Team) sat down over the holidays and set out our road map for 2013. It became clear really fast that the highlights of the upcoming year would be our 2 month summer road trip traveling across Canada and our winter season researching winter ski resorts in BC.

Canoeing in Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada

Our first step was to plan for the summer tour. But first we needed to shorten our list of travel destinations and adventures as the list was way out of hand. It was not an easy task as the 2013 “Bucket List” grew by leaps and bounds over the year becoming a book of “wants and dreams.” It would of took a life time to accomplish everything on our wish list… so some tough decisions had to be made. Every year is the same story.

Below is a short list of our “2013 Bucket List” destinations we hope to document, research and explore in the Summer of 2013. This is not set in stone, how could it be when so many things happen so fast when building a Canada wide travel and adventure network.

The good news is that all our adventures, updates and photos will be posted on our blog, travel websites, Facebook and Twitter pages for you to follow and… hopefully plan a trip for yourself.

  • Algonquin Park, Ontario: On this visit we plan on researching the canoe routes throughout the northwest section of the park for 3 to 5 days. We have an “itching” for some amazing moose sightings.
  • Sault Ste Marie, Ontario : Board the train and embark on the 180 kilometre sightseeing rail tour to the Agawa Canyon Wilderness Park and visit the 4 waterfalls. You know I love “waterfalling.”
  • Quebec City, Quebec : Indulge in the many historic sites in the city as well as the many restaurants… as well as, spend some quality time visiting art galleries, outdoor patios and entertainment venues.
  • PANP, Saskatchewan : Because it is such a great story we want to backpack to Grey Owls Cabin again in the Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan, Canada.
  • Banff, Alberta : Spend time in the Rockies backpacking trails in the Banff and Jasper National Parks. There are some trails we still have yet to explore and some wildlife we still want to meet.
  • Valemount, British Columbia : Visit and add the community of Valemount to our travel websites and backpack the Berg Lake Trail to the base of Mount Robson which is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3954 metres.

I am covered in goose bumps anticipating the many planned and unplanned adventures we will embark on during our 2013 summer road trip. For planning your winter and summer adventures please book, plan and research with us on the Canada eh Travel & Adventure Network www.CanadaEH.net
